Kenneth Omeruo made a winning debut for his Spanish La Liga side, Leganes on Saturday in their 1-0 home win over ten-man Rayo Vallecano reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Guido Carrillo 14th minute goal earned Leganes their second La Liga win of the season.

Rayo Vallecano’s Alvaro Medran was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 82nd minute of the defeat.

Omeruo replaced Unai Bustinza in the 29th minute after the right back twisted his ankle during the game.

The 24-year-old, Omeruo was an unused substitute for Leganes in their games against Real Madrid, Villarreal, and Real Betis.

Omeruo joined Leganes on a season loan deal from English Premier League club, Chelsea.

Omeruo is one of the nine defenders invited by Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr for next weekend’s double-take 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Libya’s Mediterranean Knights.

Leganes are now 18th in the La Liga table with seven points from seven games.

In the Turkish Super Lig, Henry Onyekuru’s goal drought extended to five games after he failed to score in Galatasaray’s 1-0 win away at Alanyaspor.

The Nigerian international played for 85 minutes before he was replaced by Ryan Donk who went on to score the winner two minutes later.

The 21-year-old forward has made nine appearances and has scored twice.

In Isreal, John Ogu played all 90 minutes for Hapoel Beer Sheva who ended their miserable run of five without a win by defeating Maccabi Petach Tikva 4-1.

Ogu has played five games and has scored once so far in the Israeli Ligat Al this season.
