Rotherham United defender, Semi Ajayi has called on the Uyo fans to come out en masse and be the 13th player for the Super Eagles when they take on Libya’s Mediterranean Knights in Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ajayi is one of the six defenders invited by Gernot Rohr for the crucial double header.
“We know the importance of these two matches and are determined to do all we can to secure maximum points to give ourselves the best chance of qualification and make our country proud,” Ajayi was quoted on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.
“We ask for the continued support from our fans as their support can make all the difference.”
The 24 year old defender will be looking forward to add to his two international appearances for the Super Eagles in the two games against Libya.
A win for Nigeria against Libya over two legs will boost their chances of qualifying for the AFCON 2019 to be hosted by Cameroon.
