Shehu Relishes Bursaspor’s First League Win Vs Ankaragucu

Abdullahi Shehu is thrilled to see Bursaspor end their seven-game winless streak in the Turkish Super league topflight division with a 1-0 victory over Ankaragucu who benched Nigerian striker, Lanre Kehinde for the entire duration of the encounter reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Cengiz Umut Meras scored in the 22nd minute of the encounter to hand Bursaspor their first win of the season after recording five draws and two defeats.

Shehu who made his first start of the season after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the team for the last seven weeks played at the right side of a four-man midfield for Bursaspor.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international believes Bursaspor are back following their win.

Bursaspor are now 13th in the Turkish Super league topflight division table with eight points from eight games.

They will face Galatasaray in their next game after the international break.

Shehu is expected to report to the Super Eagles camp next Monday ahead of Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against Libya in Uyo.

He has made 22 appearances for the Super Eagles since he made his debut in 2015 against DR Congo in an international friendly.

Kehinde on his part has made three substitute appearances for Ankaragucu and has been an unused substitute in five league games this season.

His only goal for Ankaragucu this season in a 2-1 win was against a third-tier league side, Serik Belediyespor in Turkish Cup third round win.
