The Super Eagles will look to record their fourth consecutive win against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya when they clash in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo today (Saturday), reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Libya top Group E with four points from their opening two games, having recorded a 5-1 win against Seychelles in their first game and a 0-0 draw in the last game against South Africa in Johannesburg.
The Super Eagles started their qualifying campaign with a shocking 2-0 loss at home to South Africa but bounced back to record a 3-0 away win against Seychelles in Victoria on matchday- two.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Nigeria have won the three matches they have played against Libya so far, two of which were friendly games.
The two sides first met in a LG Cup tournament on 0ctober 11, 2014 with the Super Eagles winning 2-1.
Their next meeting was a year later, with the Super Eagles securing a narrow 1-0 win on August 17, 2005.
The most recent encounters was at the 2018 Africa Nations Championship in Morocco where the Eagles edged the Libyans 1-0 in a Group C encounter with a goal from then Shooting Stars striker Sunday Faleye.
