If he’s doing a job he loves, you should definitely talk about it. You learn more about a person by what they are passionate about. Listening to him talk about the favorite things about his job will surely give you a strong insight as to who he is.
You find out if he’s happy
When a person has a job they hate, this dissatisfaction will seep into other areas of his life, and yes, that includes the relationship. So, when you talk to him about what he does for a living, you’ll figure out whether or not he enjoys it. If he doesn’t you can offer your support and understanding and you may even have some ideas that may make things better.
It gives you more things to talk about
Don’t just limit your relationship discussions to the shallow and mundane stuff. When you talk to each other about the nitty-gritty of your jobs, it gives the both of you more interesting topics for conversations. It also gives you the opportunity to stimulate each other intellectually as work talk often involves intelligent discussions.
