A woman who stabbed her boyfriend to death following an argument at their home has been jailed.

Simone Fergus, 34, was sentenced on Friday, 5 October at Wood Green Crown Court in London to five years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of her boyfriend, Raul Chiriac, 26, on Monday, 1 October.

The court heard police were called to the home they shared in Zenith Close at 17:58hrs on Sunday, 15 April to reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and found Raul at the scene suffering from a single stab wound.

He was taken to a central London hospital by London Ambulance Service, where he was pronounced dead later that evening.

A post-mortem examination was held on Wednesday, 18 April and gave his cause of death as haemorrhage following a stab wound penetrating the lung.

Fergus was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and charged on Tuesday, 17 April.

The court heard the pair had a turbulent relationship and Fergus admitted to manslaughter.
