Panic gripped residents after a school bus conveying pupils went up in flames in the middle of the road in Rivers state.
According to reports, the bus caught fire at St John’s school along Ognogoro road in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital.
It was gathered that the timely intervention of people around the vicinity ensured that all the children were rescued alive and unhurt.
The fire was later put out due to concerted efforts from the public.
Few months ago, about thirteen people were burnt to death when a bus burst into flames after a head-on collision with a digger near Nigeria’s oil hub of Port Harcourt.
The survivor, who sustained severe burns, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
