Stoke City midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, could feature in Saturday’s English Championship clash against Middlesbrough following a brief spell on the sidelines due to injury, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
Etebo has missed the Potters last three games after picking up an injury on international duty with Nigeria.
He resumed training with his teammates last week but was not deemed fit enough for the side’s 1-0 away win against Bristol City last weekend.
Stoke City manager, Gary Rowett has however provided an update on the former CD Feirense of Portugal fitness level ahead of this weekend’s fixture.
“We had a couple of knocks and niggles this week, but I will be keeping my cards close to my chest until kick-off,” Rowett told reporters on Thursday.
“There are some who are close like Sam Clucas and Peter Etebo, but what we have to do is make sure we don’t bring them back too early and put them at any risk.
“There are decisions I am going to make and there are situations that I will have to monitor over the next 24, 48 hours.”
Etebo has made 11 appearances for Stoke City in the Championship this season.
He has been named in Nigeria’s squad for this month’s 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against South Africa and friendly encounter against the Cranes of Uganda.
