So make a list, you’ve got some shopping to do.
Coconut oil
Is there anything coconut oil can’t do? It’s probably the ultimate wonder oil. Coconut oil contains lauric acid and certain anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling and bruising.
Simply get some extra virgin coconut oil and massage under your eyes for a few minutes every night. Do this constantly and watch the puffiness fade away.
Cucumber
Using cucumbers on your eyes isn’t just a spa trick to make you feel cool. It really works. Cucumbers are famed for relieving irritation and work really well to soothe the sensitive skin under the eyes.
Slice some cucumbers and put them in the fridge. When they’re cold, place them over your eyes and leave for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this several times a day for the best results.
Coffee Grounds
If you didn’t know, coffee is packed with anti inflammatory properties. This is especially great for under-eye bags because it helps reduce puffiness. But for this recipe you’ll need to add black pepper and coconut oil.
Take 1/2 spoon of ground coffee, add a pinch of black pepper and a full spoon of coconut oil. The coffee will reduce the swelling, while the black pepper promotes blood circulation and the oil moisturizes.
Cold spoon
This is probably the easiest and most common remedy in the world. Applying a cold compress or object to any swelling immediately reduces the swelling. They help relax blood vessels for easier blood flow which positively affects the swollen area.
To use, simply put 4 or 5 spoons in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Take the spoon out and place it on the eye socket making sure the curved part covers the under-eye also. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and remove. Repeat this twice daily for the best results.
Cold milk
Milk is a go-to source for Vitamin A which contains a good amount of retinoids. These retinoids are great for giving the skin a youthful appearance and brightening it as well. Sometimes, under-eye bags come with dark circles, so this treatment would be great for an all-round cure. The coolness would reduce the swelling while the Vitamin A brightens and plumps. It’s a win-win!
To apply, soak a cotton pad in some cold milk and apply under your eye. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off. Do this twice daily for the best results.
