Every relationship expert seems to be shouting from the rooftops that showing off your bae on social media is a bad idea.
While they may have a point, you probably love to share your relationship online because it makes you so happy So should you stop?
Why is it wrong?
One of the reasons why sharing details of your relationship on social media is discouraged is because you’re inviting the opinion of a third party into your life as a couple. Take, for instance, you show off your engagement ring and people start commenting on how small and cheap-looking it is. Then you start having doubts about your partner, and instead of being excited, you start seething with resentment. A gift you once appreciated now becomes a . of drama.
Also, the pursuit of social media-worthy moments can take you away from actually working on your relationship. You get so obsessed with perfecting it for the ‘gram that you probably fake things from time to time.

But is it such a big deal?
When you have a happy and healthy relationship, showing it off can be a good thing. If your man shares glowing words about you on his social media page, for instance, it’s like proclaiming his love for you to the world, and for some people that can evoke some good feelings.
The truth is, if a relationship crashes because of ‘social media’ then it probably was not strong enough to begin with. People are always going to weigh in on your life and your relationship, whether online or offline. So if all it takes to become insecure is some random stranger’s comment, then you both have deeper issues.
Whether or not you choose to share your relationship on social media is ultimately up to you. As long as both you and your partner are good with your decision, you can do as you please.
