The start of each year comes with its own beauty trends. Some come and thankfully fade away (*coughs “feather brows”) and some come and never leave. With each trend that emerges, there’s a tinge of excitement. We try the awkward ones for extra likes on Instagram, but there are a few that we genuinely want to add to our arsenal. Today, we’re talking about glossy eyes, and how you can achieve it easily.
How to do a glossy eye? Leave it to us. By the time we’re done showing you how you’ll be dri…dripping! Now, there are many ways to achieve a glossy eye but there are two main products used – a shimmery eyeshadow and a gloss.

Some beauty brands have gone ahead to create products especially for it, but we’re going to show you a hack. This is how to do a glossy eye with lip gloss:
First step
Grab a shimmery or metallic eyeshadow. We’ve found that shimmery shadows work best and give the best effect. Avoid glitter and shadows with big particles to reduce the chances of a build up. The finer the shadow, the better the look. Use an eyeshadow brush, or your finger, to dab the shadow on your entire eyelid making sure it’s as sheer as possible.
Note: To get a longer, creaseless result, we suggest avoiding your eye crease while applying your shadow and gloss. Stick to the mobile lid alone and the results will be amazing.

Second step
Using your finger to take a small amount of lip gloss (Vaseline can be used too). Try to pick one that isn’t too sticky or thick for the best result. Dab a bit on the centre of your top eyelid until it starts drying. We don’t recommend spreading it out because as the day goes by it will naturally spread out on its own.

Step three
You can choose to finish off your look with a black eyeliner and mascara (lashes will hide your masterpiece) and you’re done! A sexy, glossy look that is Instagram verification worthy!
