His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri has applauded the National Association of Seadogs, (Pyrates Confraternity) for their consistent fight against cultism in tertiary Institutions and other social vices in Nigeria.
The Monarch who stated this during a courtesy call in his palace by members of the association led by the NAS First Mate, Chiemeka Ozumba, the NAS Second Mate, Bart Akelemor and the NAS High Priest, Richard Ekanem commended the pride the members have in belonging to the association and the openness of their activities.
According to him NAS has as its members credible, highly educated and responsible Nigerians who have a huge role to play to instil discipline in “our body politics”
Ozumba who represented the NAS Cap’n, Mr Emmanuel Kwaghbunde Gbahabo during the visit told the royal father that the association formally came to inform him that it was holding its 1st Quarter PWC in his kingdom.
He explained that contrary to some people’s belief, the association founded over 52-years ago by Prof. Wole Soyinka is made up of persons of like minds with the intent of ensuring an egalitarian society devoid of tribal, nepotism, favouritism and other social vices.
Ozumba who insisted that the association does not have student membership declared that any student in “our tertiary institutions who claim to be a Seadogs is an impostor and should be dealt with and handed over to the appropriate security authority for prosecution”.
