If you love Nigerian fashion and grew up in Nigeria, we’ve got a treat for you!
Nigerian fashion designer, Andrea Iyamah is giving us nostalgic vibes with her October 2018 campaign collection. The Creative Director, Dumebi Iyamah, is famed for her beautiful and ethnic translations. So, when we came across her latest campaign we thought it was going to be a fashionable tribute we could relate to. But to be honest, it’s even better.
This Nigerian fashion designer has created a campaign that taps into 3 areas we feel strongly about. The Andrea Iyamah campaign has prints we can relate to, features Oluchi Orlandi (an African model we adore) and pays homage to the typical Nigerian childhood.
We see Oluchi playing with kids, getting her hair threaded, roasting “boli” and fetching water. Why do we have the sudden urge to call home?
The brand shared images of the collection a few hours ago via Instagram with a caption; “The Andrea Iyamah October 2018 campaign re-creates some of the fondest memories of the Nigerian child.
Nigerian supermodel, Oluchi Orlandi is adorned in bright Andrea Iyamah swimsuit pieces alongside energetic Nigerian children. The campaign features Andrea Iyamah swimwear in a range of bright colours such as purple, yellow and blue. Shot in Yaba, Lagos Nigeria, the campaign incorporates Nigerian childhood activities such as fetching water and traditional games.”
