Maurizio Sarri has been nominated for the Premier League manager of the month for October reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Italian, Sarri who is in his first season at Stamford Bridge will battle Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe from Bournmeouth and Brighton’s Chris Hughton.
Sarri guided Chelsea to an unbeaten run in the month of October recording two wins and a draw.
He led Chelsea to a pair of impressive away wins in the English Premier league, against Southampton and Burnley, and also struck a memorable last-minute equaliser to earn a point at home to Manchester United.
He is also yet to lose a game this season in all competitions.
Guardiola began the month with Manchester City playing a 0-0 draw at title rivals Liverpool, then followed that up with a 5-0 win over Burnley and a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Wembley. They currently sit top of the table, just ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.
Hughton on his part led Brighton to three wins. The Seagulls are up to 11th in the table after recording 1-0 wins over West Ham, Newcastle United and Wolves.
For Eddie Howe, he led his side,Bournemouth three wins and a draw in the month of October.
The Clarets defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 before nicking wins over Watford, Fulham and drew with Southampton to move up to sixth in the table. The award is decided by a combination of vote.
