Tax Evading Driver Arrested After Injuring Special Assistant In Edo. Photos

The special assistant on revenue, Hon. Efosa .A. Efosa of Egor local government council was terribly injured by a commercial bus driver who drove recklessly in a bid to avoid paying his daily tax contribution to the Egor local government revenue collecting team, who were on their legitimate duty at the UBTH axis of Egor local government area.

The driver Mr. Raphael Omoruyi was alleged to be driving recklessly on the walkway on top speed, in a well calculated attempt of tax evasion and eventually hit the special assistant on revenue Hon. Efosa .A. Efosa’s body, leaving him with a deep cut on his leg and bruises on his elbows there by causing a colossal bleeding to the leg of the honourable.

The tax evading driver, Mr. Raphael Omoruyi was appropriately arrested by the police officers deployed by the gallant Ugbowo police men who were instructed by the no-nonsense police divisional officer who responded appropriately to the call of assistance by the executive chairman of Egor local government council, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia who unavoidably was away on an official engagement.

Not only was the driver alleged to be deliberately avoiding paying his daily tax, he was also seen to have deliberately made an attempt on the life of the special assistant who was on duty as at the time.

The matter has since been on the way to court for proper adjudication as at the time of filing this report,the executive chairman, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia has resolved not to take this matter lightly.

The affected special assistant on revenue is currently in the hospital for proper medical attention at the expenses of the local government council as directed by the executive chairman of Egor local government council, Hon. Eghe Ogbemudia.
