A woman has been left heartbroken following the killing of her 9-year-old son. According to the beavered mother, her son was murdered after she quarrelled with her relative over airtime.
The woman identified as Thobile Sibanyoni said when her relative sent her a note threatening to kill her son, she thought it was just a joke. But last Thursday, her nine-year-old son, Nhlanhla disappeared and his body was found in the bush.
The 24-year-old mum from Ekangala, South Africa, told Daily Sun the boy was killed after she fought with a relative over airtime. She said when Nhlanhla didn’t return home, she rushed to his school. She then learnt he had been killed.
Thobile said her aunt later told her the relative had changed Nhlanhla into casual clothes and said he was taking him to the doctor.
“I was sick and told my brother to buy airtime so I could arrange medication. “It never reached me and I found out my relative bought data.”
Thobile said she confronted her relative and he wrote her a letter, threatening to kill Nhlanhla. “I asked him whether he cared about my well-being, as he chose data over helping me. I was not insulting him.”
Thobile said the relative had not been seen since her son’s body was found, and cops haven’t shared information about the case.
Constable Connie Moganedi said a murder case was being investigated.
