Decluttering your wardrobe leaves you with a clear style space and a capsule collection of must-haves! Although, it can be tedious to declutter especially if you are busy but it’s really easy if you know a few tricks!
This holiday season will be the perfect time to organise and structure your wardrobe as it should be (that’s the way boss chics roll!). It’s going to be an interesting holiday once you are able to remove ‘stale’ pieces out of your wardrobe. You’d have more space for new clothes, shoes, and bags. What do you say? Let’s show you how to get started:
Step 1: Have a clear objective
The first thing to do is find out the main reason for taking out your old stuff. Do you want to give out your old stuff or sell it? A yard sale will earn you some cash! What style do you want to achieve making your wardrobe a cohesive one? For some, the main objective is to have a minimalist wardrobe, so they sort out old stuff choosing strictly white, black or grey items.
Step 2: Take out the whole pile
It sounds like a lot of work especially if you have a huge closet but there’s no harm asking for more hands to help out. Clearing out your wardrobe would help select what really needs to go back in there, clean up hidden cobwebs and allow ventilation.
Step 3: Select, select and select!
At this point, you need to be selective with what really needs to go back into the wardrobe. You don’t want to declutter all over again two weeks later (nobody has time for that).
Step 4: Girl squads are allowed
If you have a girl squad, it’s always fun when they are around to help you sort out your old stuff. It’s easy to make decisions. It also keeps you motivated.
Step 5: Keep to time
Nothing hurts than spending the whole day doing just one thing! Set an alarm to help you keep track of time and do what you have to do without taking the whole day.
Step 6: Yardsale or donation?
Decide what you want to do with the old stuff. Do you want to sell off your old stuff or donate for a good cause? It’s okay to sell it off if necessary or give it out if you choose.
