Kanye West’s epic Twitter takedown of Drake concluded with serious claims that the hip hop artist called to ‘threaten the safety of his family.’ Kanye’s online tirade on Thursday night went on for a further eight hours after he demanded an apology from Drake for requesting clearance on a sample of one of his tracks.

As he continued to tweet every few minutes throughout the night, Kim Kardashian’s husband’s accusations escalated to claims that Drake had called him and threatened the family. Kanye tweeted: ‘You threatened the safety of me and my family.’

He’d previously said: ‘Leave me and my family alone bro,’ and before that: ‘Never threaten North Saint and Chicago’s dad bro.’ While Drake did not publicly comment on the Twitter messages – which were a trending topic on Twitter on Thursday evening – he did post a series of laughing emojis on his Instagram Stories.

Kanye seemed to suggest that Drake was still in contact with Kim’s mother Kris Jenner, and her sister Kendall Jenner’s boyfriend Travis Scott. Kanye referenced his bipolar disorder in the onslaught of messages before retreating to say he thinks he’s like an ‘idol’ to Drake and would like to talk to him one-to-one. He tweeted: ‘I’m Ye bro Remember that I love you I would never intentionally hurt you That’s what I’ve been saying to you.’
