Andy Murray will be honoured with a statue at Wimbledon once he hangs up his racquet, All England Club chiefs confirmed. The Brit tearfully announced his plans to retire from the sport on Friday, with tributes flooding in to honour one of Britain’s greatest ever sportsman. Murray has certainly confirmed his status as Britain’s finest tennis player – at least in the modern era – with the other contender Fred Perry already famously bronzed within the Wimbledon grounds.
