A beer seller and a guard, Dauda Amusat and Kabiru Dudupariola, have been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly killing one Sanusi Isiaka.
The Osun State Police Command had last week paraded Amusat, a beer seller, and Kabiru, a security guard, before journalists for allegedly killing a businessman, Isiaka, who was lured from Saki in Oyo State to Osogbo.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, told the court on Monday that the accused persons had on May 14, 2017, around 9pm along the Iwo/Ibadan Road, Osogbo, conspired among themselves to commit murder.
Oladoye added that the accused, on the same day, time and place, unlawfully beheaded Isiaka, an offence that is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34, col. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The plea of the accused was not taken because of the nature of the offence they were accused of.In his ruling, Chief Magistrate R. A. Olayemi, remanded the accused in prison custody till January 28, 2019.
