According to reports, two container loads of election materials have caught fire at the INEC office close to the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, Anambra state capital.
The cause of the fire outbreak is unknown as men of the fire service are currently battling to put out the fire.
The fire inside the Anambra State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, started at about 2:10 pm.
The fire allegedly started from a container bearing election materials dispatched to the centre earlier.
It was gathered that part of the materials in the container are card readers to be used for Saturday’s election.
