An elder statesman and a retired partisan politician in Katsina, senator Mamman Abubakar Danmusa has vehemently opposed the re-election bid for President Muhammadu Buhari saying that he does not deserve to be given second chance.
Senator Mamman Danmusa who was a deputy Senate President in the Second Republic cited issues of insecurity, hunger, poverty, and hopelessness as the main reasons he believed that Nigerians should vote for another candidate come 16th of February 2019.
The former Senator made this call to the electorates while addressing newsmen in Katsina on Monday, 11 of February, 2019.
According to him: “This week, Nigerians will on 16th of this month, vote for their new President. In light of the prevailling insecurity, abject poverty and unemployment; is it fair to ask our people to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari as I have done in 2007, 2011 and 2015? The answer is capital no”. He said.
He added that: “In 2015, the insecurity was only restricted to North East but today, the whole of the North West is engulfed by armed robbery and kidnappings, both on high ways, in our homes and even in our markets.
“For me, under this situation, President Muhammadu Buhari does not deserve to be given another chance.” He conclude.
