Chelsea ace Eden Hazard downplayed the disturbing post-match scene which saw him accosted by a pitch invader following the Blues’ 2-1 win over Malmo.

Belgium international Hazard was pounced upon by the pitch invader immediately after the final whistle and only released when four stewards finally prised apart the culprit’s grip.

Hazard handed over his shirt but UEFA are now set to investigate the incident, amid serious safety concerns.

The fan, one of at least four from the home stands who encroached onto the playing surface, was escorted off by stewards, holding the shirt.

Hazard, 28, appeared unsettled by the incident, but later downplayed the situation.

“It’s not an incident,” said Hazard. “He just asked for my shirt.”

Hazard was a second half substitute for Maurizio Sarri’s men as they bounced back from the weekend thrashing at Manchester City with a 2-1 victory.
