According to reports, Kim, the abducted son of the Chaplain of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, Rev. Andrew Dido has been released to his family.

Well-wishers were seen at the family’s residence, sharing their joy.

“The Bible says that all things work together for good, to them that love God and are called according to his purpose,” these were the words of Rev. Dido to Stefanos Foundation correspondents when they visited the family yesterday.

Narrating the incident that led to his son’s abduction, Dido said:

“On that faithful day, the 20th of March 2019, I felt led to Call our district branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Heipang for prayer. As the Chairman of the district, I decided to invite all the church leaders for the prayer. Immediately after the prayer, at about 7:20pm, I came back home and entered the bedroom; my family were outside.

Not long after, I heard my family rushing into the bedroom saying, they sighted some gunmen outside.

Just as I was wondering what was going on, the gunmen followed in, fired their gun twice but to God be the glory, the Lord averted it and I am now alive to give the story.

They took my son away and demanded for 20 million Naira as ransom.”

When asked how the negotiation went with the gunmen, Rev. Dido said,

“They took my phone with them and I believe they searched for my daughter’s number and that was how we kept communicating with them through my daughter’s phone.

We praise God, no harm has been done to my family. Kim has returned unharmed. Only that we are still traumatised as a result of what happened, especially Kim, who had to walk some distance barefooted. When he came back, we had to remove thorns from his legs.”
