A man has admitted his twin children, (a boy and a girl) aged 1-year-and-9-months, in a Children’s Home after citing inability to provide for them.

The 27-year-old man identified as Rashid Kipter, a resident of Kapkut Village in Baringo Central, Kenya, differed with his wife, Irene Kebut, who he accuses of beating him up on Thursday morning before fleeing her matrimonial home.

Kipter says Kebut, 26, beat him over a “small issue”.

“Peace has never characterised my marriage. My wife recently battered and inflicted injuries on me before abandoning me and our children,” said the 27-year-old man.

Kipter reported the matter to the children’s authority in the area, who advised him to take the minors to Sunrise Children’s Home.

Kipter, who survives on menial jobs, says the frequent fights with his wife were as a result of him being financially broke. “On several occasions, I was unable to bring food home. My wife hardly understands. So, a fight would, consequently, break out,” said Kipter.

The couple has been married for four years.

Baringo County director of children services, Memuse Otchom, confirmed the incident.
