A woman has been jailed for smuggling Spice to her boyfriend in prison hidden in a children’s Kinder Egg inside her body. Laura Evans, 30, smuggled 1.5g of Spice past prison security to take to her boyfriend during a visit.

But she was spotted by staff on CCTV putting the Class B drugs into an open crisp packet – and handing them to her partner.

A court heard Evans told officers she had taken the stash into the prison inside a Kinder egg which she had hidden internally.

Prosecutor James Hartson said Evans had been visiting HMP Swansea in South Wales on August 29 last year.

Mr Hartson said the drugs had a “prison value” of up to £100 – higher than their value on the street.

He said the presence of Spice in prisons put inmates and staff at risk because users show increased levels of aggression.

Evans, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to conveying a prohibited item into prison.

Judge Peter Heywood jailed Evans for four months.
