Manchester United have a midfield crisis tonight – and may be forced to start full-back Diogo Dalot at right wing as they look to secure an unlikely spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side lost 2-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg at Old Trafford, and are without ten first team players for the clash.
Paul Pogba is suspended having been sent off late on against Les Parisiens, while Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata are all nursing hamstring injuries.
Alexis Sanchez may miss the rest of the season with knee ligament damage, with Anthony Martial and Antonio Valencia out through groin and calf injuries respectively.
Phil Jones will miss the match through illness, while Nemanja Matic is sidelined with a muscle problem, and Matteo Darmian is recovering from a knock.
The injuries leave Solskjaer unable to go on the offensive against Thomas Tuchel’s side, as he is forced to field a weakened side.
David De Gea is expected to retain his place in goal, with Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw to get the nod in defence.
A likely midfield three will consist of Fred, Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira, with Dalot and Marcus Rashord to start either side of Romelu Lukaku up top.
Despite going into the game as massive underdogs, Solskjaer remains upbeat about United’s chances of progressing to the last eight.
