A high school teacher was arrested on Thursday following reports of sexual assault from one of his former students in El Dorado County, California in the US.

Jason Bourdett, 34, of Cameron Park was taken into custody on suspicion of having sex with a minor while he was a teacher at Natomas Pacific Pathways Charter School in Sacramento two years ago, according to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office.
The student told law enforcement that they began a sexual relationship in 2017, when she was 17, which lasted for six months as he continued to meet with her at his home, according to the release.
Bourdett was a teacher at El Dorado High School at the time of his arrest, but his status at the school has not been released because it is a confidential personnel issue, according to a statement issued by Principal Matthew Barnes.
No other victims have been identified, according to the release.
