A suspected armed robber was almost lynched to death todat after he was caught by an angry mob in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital.
It was gathered that the the youths mobilized themselves and gave the suspect a hot chase after an alarm was raised. The mob immediately descended on him and beat him to pulp.
He was later set on fire by the residents who decided to teach him a lesson due to the high rated of robbery and killings in the area.
The suspected robber was rescued by policemen who arrived the scene of the mob action and put out the fire on him.
He was rushed to the hospital under supervision of the police and is said to be in critical condition.
