Popular Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has publicly denied he is afflicted with stroke. The rumour that Mr Ibu was battling a stroke is allegedly attributed to having been started by the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Mr Emeka Rollas.
Rollas is said to have told reporters that the popular comic actor was hit by a mysterious stroke shortly after he returned from a recent trip to Owerri. Rollas was quoted as saying:
“I am aware that Mr Ibu is truly down with stroke, but he is fast recovering and need more of our prayers right now.”
But that claim was unsubstantiated as Mr Ibu has decided to come out and show his healthy self in a video.
To debunk the rumours, Mr Ibu shared a video of himself with his wife, questioning why people would spread such rumours.
In the video, we saw him kiss the neck of his wife, then he turns to the camera and asks why people would say he is down with a stroke.
“I don’t have any stroke, please,” he says.
He continues:
“This is my wife, my humble wife.”
“People are so funny,” his wife quips.
“I hand over everything to God Almighty,” Mr Ibu continues. “I forgive you. I forgive you.”
“My husband is well,” Mr Ibu’s wife rejoins.
