Harmattan season in Nigeria usually comes between the end of November and the middle of March yearly and it can be really challenging to those who are not prepared for it.
Here are 10 tips to keep you safe throughout the season…
- Put on thick clothes that cover your body to make you warm.
- Drink plenty fluids to prevent dehydration.
- Wash your eyes regularly especially if your are exposed to dust and wear protective spectacles.

Use oily creams to keep our skin healthy and apply lips balms to avoid chapped lips and skin.

Drastically reduce exposure to the dust especially if you are Asthmatic. Reduce exposure to dirty and dusty atmosphere and always keep the inhaler handy.

Wash fruits and vegetables properly before eating.

Stay away from soda, coke and other carbonated soft drinks because they may dehydrate your skin. Drink hot tea, because it keeps you warm and free of flu.

Have your bath with warm water in the mornings and evenings because it will keep your body warm and free from cold and other flu symptoms.

Avoid burning bushes as this may go out of your control and lead to unwanted fire outbreaks. The fumes may also make people nearby uncomfortable.
