Veteran Nigerian musician, Gabriel Amanyi  popularly known as Terry G has said he  is the “Jesus” of Nigerian music but not the Christ.

The singer had an interview with Channels TV where he revealed that Nigerians have come to accept his kind of music. Terg G said he set the pace for other musicians and likened himself to Jesus as he sacrificed for his artiste genre.

He said he is the Jesus of Nigerian music but not the christ because Christ is the saviour of the world and Jesus is a name.

Terry G is widely known for his eccentric dress-sense, controversial lyrics and awkward identity. He has been described by The Punch as “one of the world’s weirdest singers”,  and by Channels TV as the “craziest musician in Nigeria”.

The “Akpako master”, as he is fondly called, received critical acclaim for his unique brand of music and personality.
