The Lagos State government is getting ready to admit patients infected with CoronaVirus. They are preparing because they have estimated what is out there.
You will recall that the Lagos state government yesterday said that they contact tracing of over 3400 people was ongoing. The state has been doing everything possible to prevent the worse situation.
They are also set to distribute relief materials in the state to help those who are worst hit at this difficult time. Many in the state have been proud of the governor who felt he wasn’t doing anything and was lashed after the okada ban.
A total of 89 covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Nigeria.
My question is do they have enough manpower? Are doctors and nurses willing to put their lives on the line? Some nurses I know are already thinking of quitting their jobs. Some hospitals are not even attending to patients anymore for fear of unknowingly attending to patients that may have the virus. There will be a severe shortage of medical professionals to take care of that number of people in one state alone.
