A nurse has shared the face of our present reality. Aimée Goold shared a photo of her bruised face after wearing a protective face mask for 13 hours.
Aimee revealed she had been working 65-hour weeks amid the coronavirus crisis, as she begged people to ‘remember her face’ when thinking of going out.
In the post, she describes the image as being ‘the face of reality’ and a visual representation of ‘going through hell’.
She reveals how she hasn’t seen her family for nearly a month and is putting her life on the line to save others, but vows to continue fighting Covid-19 from the frontline.
Aimée also told people out there of holding the hands of dying patients, to ensure that even though relatives are unable to be by their side, they are not alone in their final moments.

This is the face of someone who holds your dying family member’s hand, so they’re never alone.
This is the face of someone who is exhausted, but will continue to fight Covid-19.

This is the face of someone who is proud to stand on the frontline with all key workers.
This is the face of someone who wants lock down to end.
This is the face that is begging you, to NOT go out this Easter weekend.
This is the face that is begging you to abide by the social distancing rules.
This is the face of an ICU nurse that is begging you: to stay inside, protect us, protect the NHS and help us save lives.
