Coronavirus pandemic is not a new language worldwide as the virus is spreading rapidly in Africa and Nigeria is not left out. In the nation’s most populous city, Lagos the figures are fast rising.
As at the 19th of April, 627 cases were confirmed in Nigeria and 376 active cases in Lagos. 170 of the cases have been discharged and the nation has recorded 21 deaths.
So far some private hospitals have been affected as they have recorded some coronavirus cases. See the hospitals affected below:
Premier Specialists’ Medical Centre, Victoria Island
The hospital made it public on it’s website that they are working with the Nigerian center for disease control(NCDC) and The Lagos State Health Services to resolve the issue.
St. Edwards Hospital, Ajah
This hospital unknowingly treated a positive patient before the NCDC took the patient to their isolation center.
Vedicare Lifecare, Lekki
This hospital announced theirs today Monday, 20th of April, 2020 that they have temporarily shut down because two of their staff tested positive to COVID-19 after unknowingly treating an infected patient.
Saint Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island
The hospital also made it public today Monday, 20th of April, 2020 that they have been affected as well.
County Hospital, Ogba
This hospital has been hit as well
People who have visited these hospitals have been advised to self isolate for two weeks.
