Nigerian Human rights activist, Segun Awosanya aka Segalink popularly known for convening the campaign against police brutality in Nigeria on social media as #EndSARS.
Segalink is known for fighting for people brutalized by the police and he spoke about the recent fight against police brutality in Nigeria and around the world and how some people have tried to hijack the genuine advocacy he has been on for years.
Since the global movement started, this symbol has gone viral amongst protesters on social media and the convener who wasn’t some pleased about it shared his view in a thread on Twitter that has now been deleted.
He tweeted:
This is the symbol of the cult group that wants to hijack the genuine advocacy targeted to objectively engage Govt on behalf of the people to fix our 90years old institutions and save the lives of our youth. They want to own it & weaponize it against the state

Sega, you should not do this.
Stop making it easy for people to overlook the good you have done.Do what you want to do and let others function.
There is no real ownership in these things. https://t.co/Zo3ZnmFgZn— Gene Grey (@EuginhoCortez) October 14, 2020
Some people says there is no face to #ENDSARS movement and that it is global fight. See more reactions below:
What do you think? Is it wrong for the fight against SARS to have a face or a leader? Is Segalink wrong for his tweet?
Can you prove this?
