Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has insisted that the Gunners will miss midfielder Mesut Ozil’s quality because the former Real Madrid star is a very special player.
Arteta said this following Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday night.
Ozil left Arsenal to join Fenerbahce on Monday after being frozen out by Arteta.
The ex-Germany international was not registered in Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads this season.
Speaking about Ozil after Arsenal defeated Newcastle, Arteta was quoted by Arsenal’s official website as saying: “Well, Mesut is in Turkey and he’s going through the medical which has to be completed, and there is some paperwork that has to be done.
“But it doesn’t matter, Mesut’s quality will be missed because he is a very special player that had a big history in this football club.”
