The immediate past governor of Imo state, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been arrested by the police after he led a team of his supporters to reopen the Royal Palm Estate sealed by the state Government.
Okorocha who was accompanied by his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, broke the keys used to seal the hotel which belongs to his wife, Nkechi.
The state government had last Friday, February 19, recovered the Royal Palm Estate along Akachi road.
The seizure, according to the team led by Commissioner for Lands, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, was in compliance with the directive of the Imo State gazette on the report of the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on the recovery of Lands and other related matters.
Okorocha is currently being detained at the state police headquarters. Police sources say he will be charged to court tomorrow February 22.
