This year, Children’s Day will be exciting and different. 9ijakids in partnership with STEM-METS and EduFun Technik are organizing a Virtual STEAM Fest for 1,000 children between the ages of 7-13 years as part of the 2021 Children’s Day activities.
In case you are wondering “What is STEAM?” STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM).
According to research, 80% of jobs will require technological skills. Most jobs of the future will require a basic understanding of Math and Science. STEAM occupations are growing at 24%, while other occupations are growing at 4%.
STEAM education helps children become better problem solvers, innovators, inventors, self-reliant and logical thinkers. Also, ensures they have the needed skills to join the future workforce.
The organizers of the STEM Fun Fest hope to “spark” a love for STEAM through education, fun activities, and career talks.
The 2-hr virtual webinar for kids aged 7-13 will include fun, engaging STEAM workshops, short talks from kids doing amazing things in STEAM, STEAM competition, and games.
Some of the speakers at the event include Gitanjali Rao (Inventor, and Author, Time Kid of the Year 2020), Victory Yinka Banjo (Technovation Challenge Student Ambassador), and Barbara Salami (VP Commercial, Moderna, and Co-founder of STEM Dragon)
It promises to be exciting and fun with over a N1million worth of prizes to be won including cash prizes and Amazon tablets.
