Ahmed Gulak, a former political adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. He was the former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018.
In the same year, the Adamawa-born politician chaired the APC governorship primary committee in Imo. Gulak was shot dead by gunmen in Owerri, the Imo capital. The time frame of his death is between Saturday night and the wee hours of Sunday.

In April 2014, the Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan sacked Alhaji Ahmed Ali Gulak, his Special Adviser on Political Affairs but the former Nigerian leader did not give any reason for his dismissal.

He resigned – some days later – as the national coordinator of the Goodluck Support Group (GSG).
In 2014, he picked nomination form to run for Governor under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) burliest in the party primaries.
In 2015, Ahmed Gulak, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, dragged the Peoples Democratic Party to court over the vacant position of the party’s chairman. Gulak joined the party and its acting National Chairman, Uche Secondus, in the suit he instituted at Court 4 of the Federal Capital Territory High Court.
In January 2016, Ahmed Gulak declares himself the new national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party secretariat in Abuja.
He was a member of the Adamawa state house of Assembly and served as the Speaker of the House.

Report had it that Gulak was killed by unknown gunmen while returning to Abuja from Owerre.
Gulak’s daughter, Muneera confirmed his demise on Twitter.
