Winner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2021, Oluchi Madubuike, on Wednesday revealed that she lost her dad to leukemia ten years ago.
Madubuike, who was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2021 two weeks ago, took to her Instagram page to announce a new campaign which she termed her “passion project.”
According to her, the project, which is geared towards children living with cancer, was part of her task as MBGN 2021.
Sharing a video about the project, she captioned, “I cannot wait to hit the ground running with this passion project. This video was created to fulfill my #mbgn2021 task 2 requirement talking about an organization I endorse.” (sic)
In the video, Madubuike said, “Ten years ago, I lost my father to leukemia, and ever since, it has been my mission to raise awareness for cancer with an emphasis on blood cancers.”
The beauty queen then revealed that she was partnering with an organization to assist children living with cancer, in order to create awareness and provide “help and support them in whatever way I can.”
“I don’t just want to be an advocate but I strive to bring about sustainable solutions that can make an impact in the lives of these children and their families,” she added.
