Ugochukwu Chiedozie Monye, popularly known as Ugo Monye, is an English sports pundit and a former Rugby player.

Ugo Monye featured for the England national rugby team on 14 different occasions and played his club games at Harlequins featuring 241 times for them. He is a former winner in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

He made his debut for England as they beat Pacific Islanders 39-13 in the year 2008. Ugo Monye scored his first try for England against Scotland in the Six Nations in March 2009.

English-born Ugo Monye has Nigerian and Kenyan descent. He revealed that he is very proud of his African roots and was excited to see that he has a mix of Nigerian, Kenyan, and West African ethnicities

Relationship

Ugo Monye’s wife is Lucy Monye. They got wedded on April 16, 2016. They celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in 2021 but unfortunately split just four months after their anniversary. Ugo and Lucy had three children.

Strictly Come Dancing

He was paired with beautiful South Africa’s Oti Mabuse to compete in the BBC One reality show dubbed ” Strictly Come Dancing.”

Ugo Monye became the fourth celebrity contestant to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing during Sunday night’s episode.

It comes after he was forced to pull out of last week’s show due to a back injury.

Rugby player Ugo, 38, and his partner Oti Mabuse, 31, landed in the dance-off against TV presenter Rhys Stephenson, 27, and Nancy Xu, 30.
