Monalisa Chinda and Charles Inojie to star in stage play ‘Philomena’
Monalisa Chinda, Charles Inojie and Ejike Asiegbu are among the movie stars enlisted to feature in ‘Philomena’, a stage play written and directed by Bimbo Manuel.
In a statement sent to newsmen today, K’Ike Productions Ltd said the stage play is scheduled to hold from February 11 till 14.
It added that the presentation would take place at the Atlantic Hall of the Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Other film stars billed to feature in the project include Francis Duru, Don Kester, and Tammy Abusi.
“‘Philomena’ is the deftly told story of three characters who find themselves, by pure chance, in the same space at the same time, each with his or her personal issues that they would have carried with them if events do not force them out. Each character seeks justification for their rage at society, government and life,” the statement read.
According to the statement, the presentation of the stage play was carefully timed to hold during this year’s Valentine’s season.
Commenting on the project, Manuel said: “‘Philomena: Interview With A Prostitute’ cannot be contained in just a book anymore. Like the little acorn, the intensive little play has grown to become a massive star-studded theatrical phenomenon.”
