Petition started for Dwight Reed 63-y-o pastor to be investigated after he marries former student
Almost 3000 people have already signed a petition on change.org calling for US authorities to investigate 63-year-old Bishop of Christ Apostolic Temple Dwight Reed who got married to his former student and alleged counseling client Jordan Goodlett.
The petition was started by Safehouse #Unmuzzled to get Polk county DA in Des Moines, Iowa, USA, to investigate Reed.
While Goodlett is between 18 and 19 years old and is legally married to the pastor, the petition states that the pastor used her circumstances to groom her to become his wife.
According to the petition, beginning in 2017, Reed took over as pastor of Christ Apostolic Temple and as dean of its school when the girl would have been 15-16 years old. It is believed that through his role as pastor, school dean, and counselor, he gained an inroad to Jordan and began grooming her to be later brought into his service and control.
The petition went on to state that he was allegedly accused of similar unethical relationships with young girls in Shreveport, LA, where he previously pastored.
The pastor has reportedly been married and divorced three times, with Jordan being his 4th wife. Although the marriage is legal, the breach of ethics and breach of fiduciary responsibility are not as this child was clearly groomed, the petition added.
“We need your help asking the Des Moines district attorney’s office and police department to open an investigation into Dwight Reed,” it continued.
The petition also asked persons who the pastor may have victimized to contact the organization.
