Shizzi calls out manager over ‘archaic deal’ with Sony Music

TSB NEWS reports that Oluwaseyi Akerele, the Nigerian record producer better known as Shizzi, has called out Efe Ogbeni, his manager, for allegedly making him sign an “archaic” deal with Sony Music Publishing.

In an Instagram post, the record producer alleged that Ogbeni made him sign minimum delivery and release commitment (MDRC) deal with Sony Music “unknowingly” about six years ago.

MDRC means the amount of material or songs that a songwriter is required to deliver (for commercial release) during the term of their agreement.

In the post today, Shizzi claimed the music executive also denied him the opportunity to access a lawyer who would have explained the terms of the contract.
