Zoleka Mandela welcomes her sixth and ‘last’ child
When she announced her pregnancy, followers were shocked. She had a flat tummy just the day before. Now, suddenly, she was showing off a round belly.
“Angles,” she told them when they just didn’t understand.
Author Zoleka Mandela has given birth to her sixth child and she adamant that it will be her last.
In December 2021, the activist and author jokingly shared that what she thought was food poising turned out to be a bun in the oven. “Dear Diary, so like, I thought I had food poisoning, turns out I was pregnant with my 6th child. New hashtag loading,” she wrote.

Now, just a day before her 42nd birthday, Zoleka has finally welcomed her daughter, Zingce Zobuhle Mandela.
In 2017, the the two-time breast cancer survivor was informed by her oncologist that having another child could increase her risk of getting cancer again, but she still wanted more.
“I am 37 years old and have been pushed into early/medical menopause twice in my life. Pregnancy and weight gain increase oestrogen in my body which only accelerates the growth of cancer cells,” she said in a previous Instagram post.
But despite that, she welcomed her fifth baby in 2019. Taking to Instagram at the weekend she wrote, “To my daughter … We did it, baby … Just me and you, thank you for choosing me as your MOM!!” Zoleka also thanked everyone for wishing her a happy birthday and shared that she and her healthy daughter are still in the hospital.
“The nurse keeps saying she eats a lot and that she’s such an incredibly active baby.”
