Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, sentenced for not registering as s3x offender
Kenneth Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, the Trinidad-born rapper, has been sentenced to a year of home detention for failing to register as a s3x offender.
The 44-year-old, who pleaded guilty to failing to register last year, was given a one-year home detention term, three years of probation, and ordered to pay a fine of $55,000 (£46,000) by a federal judge on Wednesday.
Petty was convicted of rape in New York in 1995. He, however, failed to register within the required five days after moving to California with Nicki Minaj in 2019.
The US law states that registered s3x offenders have five days to update their details if their residence changes.
