Breaking: Details Of Buhari’s Meeting With Poland President, Andrzej Dudat, Emerges
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda met on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tsbnews had reported earlier that Duda arrived at the Villa at about 10:30 am and was given a warm welcome with a guard of honour.
After a brief reception, Tsbnews reports that the two leaders came to terms and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Agriculture to strengthen collaboration between both countries in the sector.
Interacting with journalists at the front porch of the Presidential Villa in Abuja shortly after the closed-door session with Buhari, Duda said the MoU becomes necessary in the light of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and the consequent food crisis.
He was optimistic that some good will come out of the MoU.
The visiting president described Russia’s aggression as “unjustified” noting that his country is supporting affected states and its partner countries to boost agricultural yield.
In the energy dimension, he noted that Nigeria, being rich in gas, will ensure a steady increase of supply to Poland and the rest of the European Union.
Duda said: “I hope we’re going to see some fruit in this memorandum we have signed.”
Buhari Makes Request For Nigerian Students
Having thanked President Duda on the visit and his government’s contribution to the affected nations, President Buhari begged the Polish government to open its arms to Nigerian students whose studies were truncated by the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
He begged that Poland should offer the aggrieved students opportunities for continued education.
Buhari noted that both countries have reached agreements to increase collaboration in agriculture, energy and defense.
After the briefing, Buhari and his host proceeded to the State House Banquet Hall for lunch, Naija News understands.
