Despite ASUU strike, EKSU resumes academic activities today
The management of Ekiti State University (EKSU) says full academic activities will commence at the institution on Thursday.
According to NAN, Bode Olofinmuagun, the varsity’s spokesman, announced the resumption date in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Wednesday.
Olofinmuagun said round-off lectures for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session will take place between September 22 and October 21.
“The second semester examination for the 2020/2021 academic session holds between Monday, October 24 and Saturday, November 5,’’ he added.
The varsity’s spokesperson also said lectures for 100-level students admitted for the 2021/2022 academic session would begin on October 3.
“Students should note that only duly registered students of the university will have access to all the academic activities,” he said.
“Management appeals to academic and non-teaching staff to give their maximum support so that both the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions would be completed without further delay.
“This is with a view to ensuring the survival of our common heritage – Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. Management wishes all students safe trips back to Ado-Ekiti.”
The directive comes amid the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
