Blogger who claimed I slept with IVD has been trying to tarnish my image for 4 years, says Mercy Eke
Mercy Eke, the winner of the 2019 BBNaija reality TV show, has claimed the blogger who orchestrated her rumoured affair with IVD has been trying to tarnish her image for four years.
In October, a blogger claimed Eke was having an affair with IVD.
IVD, real name Ikechukwu Ogbonna, was the husband of Bimbo Ogbonna — who passed away amid domestic violence claim.
The reality star spoke when she appeared on the latest episode of #WithChude hosted by Chude Jideonwo, the media personality.
She alleged that the blogger “vowed to deal with me” after she refused to pay a certain amount requested.
Eke also said she addressed the rumoured affair in order to defend herself for the first time in “four years of blackmail.”
“The blogger who posted the IVD issue has been on my cases forever. This person has tarnished my image and I have never responded,” she said.
“I heard it started when I was in BBNaija’s house where the blogger asked for N200k and they didn’t give him/her so since then the blogger vow to deal with me. So when I came out of the house, I said I can’t pay for what I didn’t know and since then the blogger has been posting rumour about me and I won’t respond.
“But the IVD issue; someone just died, there is a case of domestic violence and the woman is my friend. The blogger just added my name to what I know nothing about. That I am sleeping with him.
“My manager, personal assistant, and lawyer advised me that it’s time I defend myself. That would be the last time I would react to a rumour about me.
“I just needed to clear that one because it’s been four years of the blogger tarnishing my image.”
